In the last few weeks I've been experiencing a film over my eye in the mornings. I close my eye and rub lightly with my fingertip and the film goes away after a few tries. I will go to an eye doctor eventually when I can afford it, but for right now, I need to put it off and just wonder if anyone can please give me some idea what this condition might be, and how serious it could be. I use the computer a lot sometimes and it gives me puffy eyes in the mornings, so I've been slacking off lately. Thank you and hope to hear from someone.

This is what has helped me with that problem. (My optometrist suggested this). Have some warm water running from a tap, and either wet a face-cloth with the warm water or cup your hands together to gather some water and soak your eye. I just cup my hands together and try to get my eye into the warm water. I blink while my eye is in the water and repeat the step a few times. Somehow, it clears the film off and the itch usually goes away as well.

your condition in minor. I started getting that at about 13 and still have it. if you wash your face before bed and pull the bottom of your eye down gently and remove the string then in the morning it wont be so bad. it is sometimes worse during allergy or dusty seasons.
