I have been with my partner for a year, and in the2 years I have known him socially he has always liked to drink. He is a chef, works long hours and I know it is his way of relaxing to have a few pints before he goes to slepp.
However, recently he has begun to drink a little more and sometimes when he is drunk becomes emotional and asks me to come with him to see someone, as he is now unsure of whether this is just a normal routine habit, or something he can no longer do without.
I am obviously very worried, but also he has begun to be very depressed for a little while, but will then become very giddy and annoyingly hyperactive. He is tired all the time, and has lost interest in sex, which is particularly hard to place since he normally has a very high sex drive. He has also complained, at 28 years old of being afraid of the dark.
I no longer know if this is alcohol addiction, or something entirely unrelated. Does anyone else know someone who has had similar symptoms?
