I was wondering what are some tips to stay fit while having a an air cast on a very badly sprained ankle. I normally work out 5-6 days a week and now have to take it easy on my leg, what are some tips for keeping in shape while recovering? |

My bet is that your ankle is just fine by now, but if it happens again, go buy a water belt (a minimally restrictive floatation device) and water-jog. Try doing sprint intervals, keeping good running form... this will give you a great total body wokrout while your pumping arms and legs. (the water should come up to about your shoulders) |

Have you considered training your upper body? I suggest lifting weights, stomach crunches, boxing... Things that don't require lower body motion. Your body will recognise the weight lifting and shouldn't add much if any fat (as long as your diet is well managed). |
