I am a smoker. Judgemental people beware, you are only adding to the problem. When people make nasty comments to me about smoking, it only makes me want to light up in front of them & thoroughly enjoy my 'cancer stick'. Perhaps my 'vice' is nasty, but being judgemental is just as nasty from my perspective. Yes, I already know the risks, no need for you to educate me on them. When I quit, it will be because I want to, not because of some snide remark you've made.
Also, we are ALL going to die, some sooner than others & not neccessarily because of something we did or did not do. Wouldn't I feel stupid if I quit smoking & went through 2 days of withdrawals to 'save my life' and then got hit by a bus and lived just long enough to see the irony.
This is in no way a post to encourage people to smoke. I would like to quit someday, but on MY timeline, not yours. When I'M ready, not because you may not like it. There are many things about many people you may not like, it's not all about YOU. |
