As much as we think "more is better", when it comes to exercise, "less is more". As in, the best way to gain muscle and really make gains in your fitness level is to rest well between workouts. Especially if you weight-train, because you actually cause tiny tears in your muscle fiber. When it heals, it strengthens the muscle. Unless you overwork the muscle, in which it can cause the muscle to atrophy. The only way to overwork the muscle is to use it(high intense training) everyday. Taking a couple days off during your workout week may help your body progress more successfully
