Nicol,

You could try to lose weight by doing something active that you may not consider exercise. By this I mean just going down to a park and kicking around a football, playing frisbie or anything like that. I train regularly with a heart rate monitor, and was suprised just how much something simple like kicking a football around a park increased your heart rate. It is so easy to get your heart into the Fat burning zone doing this. You may not like kicking a football around, I just used it as an example, so try to find anything fun that just gets you to move around a little, you dont have to run, as long as you keep moving and put in short bursts now and again it will work. In terms of eating, I think people on this site take it too far. It is hard to diet, especially like you said with hectic lifestyle, so just try to not eat too much junk, if you get time to prepare a healthy type meal, make extra, you can freeze it and then get it out another nite when you dont have time to cook, and would normally get take away.
I dont claim to be a health professional or anything, but this seemed to work for me, I lost about 30 lbs in about 4 months just through exercise, and still ate fairly high fat foods, but if you can watch what you eat as well then the results would be higher.
Good Luck
