I dont think it should matter much if it was a stationary or standard. With stationary bike, you can still adjust the resistance against the wheel. Basically, if you turned the resistance up pretty high, you still will be working the same as if you were trying to pedal up a steep hill.
The only other difference I see might be trying to keep balance on a standard bike, while you dont have to do that on a stationary one.
