The keys to washboard abs: 1) Diet: stay on a 2000 calorie diet but spread them out evenly throughout the day among 5-6 smaller meals. 2000 may not seem like a lot, but if you're not eating sugar-laden or high-carb foods, you'd be surprised how filling 2000 calories can be. 2) Exercise: You MUST train hard or your abs won't show. Abs are muscles, and if you want them to be defined, you must add WEIGHT RESISTANCE to your ab routines! If you want bigger or more defined arms, you do weight exercises, right? Same with abs. If you do crunches, hold a 25 or 30 pound weight plate across your chest as you do your crunches. Abs can be worked every single day and should be done to the point of exhaustion in each set. 3) Dedication: If you eat properly and train properly, you should have strong abs. If your body fat percentage is over 10% however, don't expect to see the washboard effect. Fat tends to store around the belly button and waist, so once you eliminate those fat stores, your abs will come poking out. There is no miracle method of gettng defined abs. It just takes a dedication and commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Make the decision now: what would you rather have, dessert every night and loads of snacks as you eat to make yourself feel better, or washboard abs? I think you'll feel better about yourself if you commit to a healthy lifestyle. It can be done, don't give me excuses about how you don't have time to prepare meals or exercise. Stop watching television and schedule an hour a day for exercise and spend your money on healthy foods instead of junk food. Why do they call it junk? Because it ends up in your trunk! |
