I have found this discussion interesting. I don't want to offend anyone, but many of you are speaking from an abundance of ignorance. I feel compelled to weigh in.

My husband was raised on a dairy farm, and we dairied for the first 8 years of our marriage. It is a demanding life, mainly because Dairy cows are some of the most pampered animals on the planet.
When high milk production is the goal, abundant high quality food, clean water, clean warm housing, and a very low stress environment is the means.
I believe we are to be good stewards of the earth, and the kind of dairy that we operated was never in conflict with our convictions.

Milk in its natural form, is healthy for humans. Pasteurization and homogenization ( not to mention hormones and antibiotics) changes this wholesome food into something less than beneficial for our bodies.
We used clean, raw milk abundantly in our diet and our children were so healthy that their pediatrition thought we had changed physicians. And it is interesting to note that, even thought we consumed large quantities of 7.5% butterfat milk, we did not gain weight. That is, not until we quit dairying and changed over to the processed version.
Since that time, I have also noticed that certain physical problems are relieved when I abstain, as many of you have expressed.

I think it would be worthwhile to conduct the same health studies that are used to demonize dairy products using high quality, raw milk. Based on my personal experiences, I believe the results would be very different.

BTW, anyone who has lived on a farm knows that just about any animal enjoys drinking milk....even chickens!
